Retail Manager Solutions has commissioned the production of up to 80 short 'bubble videos' to describe the key modular areas of its successful Retail Manager suite of software applications.
Rather than writing scripts and presenting the videos themselves, RMS has elected to film its customers, all High Street name retailers, talking about how they use specific functions in their businesses. The videos carry much greater credibility as they come straight from the horses mouth. So far, interviews have been filmed with Operations and IT decision makers from House of Fraser, Carpetright, Comet, Peacocks, The Entertainer, Wilkinsons, Monsoon, Arcadia (Top Shop, Burtons, Dorothy Perkins) and Next.
The resulting bubbles, which will be between 20 and 60 seconds long, will be multi-purposed for use in presentations, websites, blogs and YouTube.
Production costs are attractively low, as there is practically no pre-production effort required other than lining up people to interview. Location shooting can be carried out anywhere there is reasonable light and not too much background noise, with a crew of just one or two. Post-production is a straightforward process of changing the graphics and text elements for each bubble.
The result is a low cost, high impact library of video material that will grow as more functionality is added to the suite.
